Report on 73rd meeting of the German Data Forum
On 15 and 16 May 2025, the German Data Forum (Rat für Sozial- und Wirtschaftsdaten, RatSWD) held its 73rd meeting at the Berlin Social Science Center (WZB).
The political work surrounding the Research Data Act took centre stage: a representative of the Federal Ministry of Research, Technology and Space reported on the current status and further proceedings. In addition, the chair of the FDI Committee provided information on the committee’s activities in connection with the Research Data Act.
The German Informatics Society (GI) was accepted as an academic association eligible to nominate candidates for the RatSWD.
The German Data Forum entered into an exchange on access to and the use and storage of data in political crisis situations. In addition, the first planning steps for the 10th Conference for Social and Economic Data (10|KSWD), which is planned for summer 2026, were presented.
