Voting starts for the 6th appointment period of the German Data Forum: 18 candidates from science and research

The election of the appointment proposals for the scientific members of the German Data Forum (Rat für Sozial– und Wirtschaftsdaten, RatSWD) starts today. Polls are open until and including 8th February 2017 (15:00, GMT+1). The eighteen candidates are presented on the election portal of the German Data Forum: www.ratswd.de/wahl

Eighteen candidates are on the ballot – researchers from the social, behavioural and economic sciences. They were nominated by the academic organizations of their respective disciplines as stipulated in the German Data Forum’s election rules. Two free candidates are up for vote with support of the required minimum of ten eligible scientists.

By casting their vote in a secret ballot, scientists and researchers determine the appointment proposals for the scientific members of the German Data Forum. More than 3,500 academics have signed up for the election register. The high turnout among the scientific community will secure a high level of legitimacy of the German Data Forum’s future members and broad representation of academic disciplines.

The election periods ends on the first day of the 7th Conference for Social and Economic Data (7. Konferenz für Sozial- und Wirtschaftsdaten, 7|KSWD), which will take place on 8th/9th February 2017 in Berlin. The election results will be announced at the conference.
