Founding committee
The goal of the founding committee of the Council for Social and Economic Data, funded by the Federal Ministry of Education and Research (BMBF), was to improve the data infrastructure for the social and economic sciences in Germany. The Founding Committee advised the BMBF on how to prioritise individual services (provision of scientific use files, metadata, etc.), made recommendations for the establishment of research data and data service centers, and prepared the establishment of a Council for Social and Economic Data, which was later called German Data Forum.
